Although I think the recent cut off between Twitter and Linkedin is no bad thing there is a way around it. Personally I didn’t like seeing unfiltered twitter streams in Linkedin as they are differing environments and shouldn’t be mixed without thought. Linkedin is for serious business talk – its not for telling others you’ve just had a great muffin, or a nice walk with the dog.

However, I do still want to tweet into Linkedin – as do many others. The cut off has upset many. So here’s a solution…

Install the Buffer app (see here http://bufferapp.com) Connect your twitter and Linkedin accounts. Then when you go to tweet it will ask if you want to ‘buffer’ or ‘tweet’. If you do ‘buffer’ it will go into Linkedin as an update as well as twitter. By the way buffer is good way to control your posts etc based on times of day – so if you want to stack up some posts but just release them at the best times its really easy to use (e.g at lunch time when people may be looking at their streams)
